Jillian reached out to me to spread the word about her Kickstarter for pre-creased origami paper, so I hope you all will take a look and help her spread her love of origami!
The Japanese tradition of folding 1,000 paper cranes to grant a wish or have a happy marriage is known all over the world. The cranes become a beautiful work of art, and your sense of accomplishment at achieving such a feat is incredible!
The only problem with this goal is the fact that folding 1,000 paper cranes takes an extremely long time. I went through this struggle myself when I decided to fold 1,000 paper cranes for my wedding last August, but I came up with a solution.
It turns out that folding pre-creased paper was much faster than working with fresh paper! I ordered a home embossing kit and created my own mold made of copper wire and aluminum sheeting. After that, I was able to churn out paper that could be folded into a crane in half the time!
This product can help beginners learn how to fold a new pattern, but it can also help speed up a pro in their efforts to fold hundreds of cranes. If this project is successful, it could even be expanded to multiple designs. Packs of paper with several different designs would be perfect for a budding origami enthusiast!
