How to Make an Easy Origami Siamese Cat

These instructions will show you how to make an easy origami Siamese cat. If you’ve never folded anything before we recommend that you take a minute to review our Beginner’s Guide which will show you all the basic skills and folds.

Siamese Cat Step 1

Step 1) Fold and unfold the paper in half both ways.

Step 2) Fold the top of the paper down to the centre and unfold it.

Step 3) Fold the top of the paper down and then fold it down again almost rolling it up inside itself.

Step 4) Turn the paper over.

Step 5) Fold both sides in and down along the dotted line.

Step 6) Fold both sides in along the dotted lines.

Step 7) Fold the bottom of the paper up along the dotted line.

Step 8) Make a Pleat Fold along the dotted lines.

How to Make an Easy Origami Shark

These instructions will show you how to make an easy origami shark that’s actually folded from a Bird Base. If you’re new to paper folding we recommend you check out our Beginner’s Guide first which will teach you the basic folds and techniques.

Shark Step 1

Step 1) Fold the paper in half.

Shark Step 2

Step 2) Fold the paper in half.

Shark Step 3

Step 3) Open the paper over to the right.

Shark Step 4

Step 4) Squash Fold the paper flat.

Shark Step 5

Step 5) Turn the paper over.

Shark Step 6

Step 6) Open the paper over to the left and Squash Fold it flat.

Shark Step 7

Step 7) Fold the sides in to the centre and then unfold them. Then fold the top down along the dotted line and then unfold that.

Shark Step 8

Step 8) Open up the top layer of paper along the crease at the top.

Shark Step 9

Step 9) Push in the sides along the existing creases, make a Petal Fold and push everything flat.

Shark Step 10

Step 10) Turn the paper over.

Shark Step 11

Step 11) Repeat steps 7-9 on this side making another Petal Fold. The result will be a Bird Base.

Step 12) Fold the top flap down making a Pleat along the dotted lines.

Shark Step 13

Step 13) Fold the top flap of paper on the right over to the left.

Step 14) Make a Pleat Fold along the diagonal dotted lines.

Shark Step 15

Step 15) Fold the flap of paper on the back of the left side over to the right.

Shark Step 16

Step 16) Pull the long thin flap of paper out to the left.

Shark Step 17

Step 17) Fold all layers of the paper in half over to the left.

Shark Step 18

Step 18) Rotate the paper about 90 degrees.

Shark Step 19

Step 19) Make an Outside Reverse Fold along the dotted line.

Seal Step 1

Step 1) Fold the paper in half and then unfold it.

Step 2) Fold both sides to the centre along the dotted line.

Step 3) Fold the other sides in to the centre along the dotted lines.

Step 4) Open up the paper that’s trapped inside.

Step 5) Fold the paper flat into a Rabbit Ear Fold on each side. This will give you a Fish Base.

Step 6) Fold the paper in half bringing the bottom up and behind.

Step 7) Make an Inside Reverse Fold along the dotted line.

Step 8) Make another Inside Reverse Fold along the dotted line.

Step 9) Make a small Inside Reverse at the front of the head.

Step 10) Fold the flap of the Rabbit Ear Fold out along the dotted line and repeat on the other side.
