Okada Utako is a Japanese origami designer whose work has been published in the Japan Origami Association’s NOA Magazine since at least the 1980s. Her designs include original models inspired by nature, such as the Tropical Fish, first published in NOA Magazine in 1987 and later republished in 1990.
Although little biographical information is publicly available, her published models continue to be appreciated by folders around the world. At the time of writing, we have not been able to find a published biography, interview, confirmed photograph, or verify the kanji spelling of her name. If you have any information that could help us tell her story more completely, we’d love to hear from you.
At Origami.me, our mission is simple: to make origami inspiring, accessible, and supportive for everyone involved.
