Who We Are and What We Stand For

At Origami.me, our mission is simple: to make origami inspiring, accessible, and supportive for everyone involved.

Here’s what we care about most:

  • Helping enthusiasts discover origami → As one of the world’s most visited origami sites, we embrace the responsibility of making the art accessible to all through tutorials, galleries, and inspiration.
  • Teaching beginners → From step-by-step guides to structured courses, we give you the tools to build confidence and enjoy learning at your own pace.
  • Supporting origami artists → We collaborate with creators worldwide, giving them recognition and fair compensation while sharing their work with care.

Our vision is to be the bridge between curious beginners and the talented artists who shape the future of origami. From first folds to lifelong passion, we see origami as a shared journey of creativity, mindfulness, and connection.

We’re glad you’re here. Let’s keep folding together!

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Meet the Team

Origami.me is brought to life by a small team of passionate folders, creators, and collaborators from around the world.

Newsletter & Research

Growing up in Japan, origami was a cherished part of my childhood, a tradition learned in elementary school that has stayed with me through the years. I bring my love for travel, coffee, and my deep connection to Japanese culture to the team. My research skills in Japanese help me uncover the rich history and techniques of origami. Life is an adventure shared with my partner, Florent, and our lovely child, Nao. Together, we fold through life, one crease at a time.

Strategy & Partnerships

Immersed in Japanese culture for over five years, I developed a deep appreciation for its arts, especially origami. Though I still see myself as a beginner, origami has become both a passion and a daily practice. At Origami.me, I focus on strategy and partnerships — shaping the site’s direction, building collaborations with artists, and creating projects that grow and connect our community. When I’m not working on new ideas or folding, you’ll likely find me listening to an audiobook or playing with our son, Nao.

Diagrams & Video tutorials

Based in Firmat, Argentina, I’ve been folding and designing origami models for over a decade. My work spans creating diagrams, teaching workshops, and sharing origami at international events like the Origami USA Virtual Convention and OWM4. I’ve taught origami for more than 12 years, both online and in person, and I believe that in origami you never stop learning — every fold reveals new possibilities. At Origami.me, I bring designs to life through diagrams and video tutorials, blending my skills as an artist and graphic designer.

Video Tutorials & Design

I’m an origami artist from France, known for minimalist, expressive models that suggest hidden stories — a mantis behind a leaf, or a creature mid-thought. I design daily in my studio and have published several books, including Just a Simple Base and Origami Studio Ghibli. My work is shared worldwide through conventions and workshops, as well as through my street art series, which leaves origami as anonymous gifts in public spaces. At Origami.me, I design and teach tutorials for our YouTube channel, bringing models to life for folders everywhere.

Content & Community
Social Media & Publishing

At Origami.me, I help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes — from publishing articles and editing images to managing our social networks. My role is to make sure the creativity of artists and the enthusiasm of our community reach as many people as possible. I enjoy the balance between organization and creativity, helping connect folders with fresh content every day.

Origami.me wouldn’t be the same without the incredible artists we work with. Their models and creativity bring our tutorials and projects to life. Discover the Artists →

🌱 Our Roots

Origami.me was founded in 2010 by Peter Saydak, whose passion for paper folding grew into one of the most visited origami websites in the world. For more than a decade, Peter guided folders through tutorials, shared his love of the craft, and even authored Everyone Can Learn Origami. His work laid the foundation for the community we continue to nurture.

In 2023, we — Saki and Florent — took over Origami.me. What began as a simple project quickly became an unexpected adventure as we discovered the kindness and generosity of the origami community. That spirit drew us in, and we soon found ourselves not just managing a site but becoming part of something bigger.

Today, we’re proud to build on Peter’s legacy while working alongside talented artists from around the world. Together, we’re committed to making origami accessible, inspiring, and supportive for all.
