Takenao Handa is a Japanese origami designer whose work has been published extensively in the Japan Origami Association’s NOA Magazine. His portfolio spans a wide range of subjects, including dinosaurs, animals, insects, flowers, practical objects, holiday models, and modular designs, showcasing both his creativity and versatility.
Although very little biographical information is publicly available, more than one hundred designs have been attributed to Takenao Handa, and his models continue to be enjoyed by folders around the world.
Surprisingly, almost nothing is known about the designer himself. At the time of writing, we have not been able to find a published biography, interview, confirmed photograph, or even verify the kanji spelling of his name. If you have any information that could help us tell his story more completely, we’d love to hear from you.
