Every model in the library is either traditional or included with the written permission of its designer. A share of what you pay goes back to the artists whose work you’re using.

Frequently asked questions

Many of our tutorials feature models created by independent designers, and we only include a model in the Educator Library once we have the designer’s permission.

That means the Library will keep growing as more artists join. A small number of models may never be included, either because we don’t have permission from the designer or because they depict licensed characters we can’t distribute as part of a paid product.

Everything you do see in the Library is there with permission, and part of what you pay goes back to the designers.

Currently not included: Rabbit, Yoshizawa Butterfly, Peace Dove, Owl, Envelope, Dog, Elephant, Fox, Shirt, Snail, and Angelfish, plus a small number of character-based models we can’t license.

You can print and hand out the sheets as often as you need for your own students or groups. Please don’t upload the digital files anywhere other people can download or share them.

Not necessarily, but it helps to fold a model yourself before teaching it to a group. Every model links back to the full Origami.me tutorial, with step-by-step photos and video to help you prepare.

Most models use a square sheet of origami paper, but you don’t need anything fancy to get started. If a model needs a different shape, the cutting instructions are included in the PDF. You’ll also find paper preparation guides in the Origami Basics section.

The individual licence is for non-commercial educational and group use. If you’re running paid workshops or using the materials commercially, please contact us at hello@origami.me so we can find the right licence.

Yes, most are suitable for children (from 5 years old). Each model includes an age recommendation and difficulty level to help you choose something appropriate for your group. The age is the youngest recommended age, not a limit, so plenty of the easier models are enjoyable for adults too.
