Peter Buchan-Symons has been folding paper for more than twenty years, ever since a childhood fascination with shapes and puzzles slowly turned into a lifelong passion for origami. Based in Oxford in the United Kingdom, Peter brings together two sides of his personality—his mathematical mind and his creative curiosity—to design models that feel clever, approachable, and satisfying to fold.
He has published several books, including Folding Fantasy, A Complete Origami Nativity, and his series of seasonal “Easy Origami” guides. Whether he is designing a simple model for beginners or a more intricate piece for experienced folders, Peter always aims for clarity, elegance, and that small spark of delight that makes you want to fold again.
Peter is also a key contributor at Origami.me. Many of the diagrams on our site and in our Circle Membership are his work, and his clear visual style has become part of how we teach. He has a rare ability to make even complex steps look simple.
Outside of publishing and diagramming, Peter runs origami workshops, creates custom paper installations, and shares his latest ideas with the origami community online. His work reflects a genuine love for the craft and a desire to help people enjoy folding, no matter their experience level.
At Origami.me, our mission is simple: to make origami inspiring, accessible, and supportive for everyone involved.
