Awesome Origami Designs from a Galaxy Far, Far Away
The Last Jedi came out some what recently, I know I’m a bit late, and I’m a really big Star Wars fan so in this post we’re going to take a look at some more amazing Star Wars origami!
This time around I tried to focus more on designs from the new movies but there’s definitely some classic stuff here as well.
First up is an amazing Resistance X-Wing model from Karol Kafarski. You may or may not have noticed that the engines and wings are different than the classic X-Wing from the original movies and the differences are reflected in this design.

The Lambda Class Imperial Shuttle from the original trilogy has always been one of my favourite designs. The benefit of using paper to fold one of these is that you can fold the wings up or out like they do in the movies.

Here’s another look at that Resistance X-Wing folded by a different artist. It took Michael Novio 3 hours to fold this so it’s not an easy model.

Here’s a great little BB-8 design that’s not too complicated. You definitely need to use orange and white paper to fold this.

The A-Wing has always been one of my favourite fighters and Martin Hunt designed this fantastic origami version with a very nice colour change in the design.

Karol Kafarski also designed this amazing Yoda. It’s folded from a single square of paper and there’s an excellent colour change in the design so you get different colours on the skin and clothes.

Shu Sugamata designed a paper version of the TIE Striker from Rogue One. This is folded from an extended Fish Base.

He also designed this excellent U-Wing, also from Rogue One. Just like the Imperial Shuttle above, since it’s made out of paper you can fold the S-Foils so they’re either open or closed.

Here’s a really excellent paper version of a Super Star Destroyer.

Karol Kafarski also designed this fantastic origami version of the TIE Silencer that Kylo Ren flies during the Last Jedi.

This is a really awesome AT-AT design. I especially like the details on the joints on the legs.

Here’s a pretty awesome photo of one of the prequel’s clone troopers taken at a convention in NYC.

This amazing original trilogy X-Wing was photographed at the 5th Korea Origami Convention. Unfortunately I don’t know who the folder is. If you know let me know in the comments so I can update the post.

This next TIE Fighter isn’t an official design but rather a unique design by Michael Novio that’s based off of Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer. It’s still a really great design that looks right out of Star Wars.

Crease pattern coming soon
Here’s another one of the standard TIE Fighters. There’s a lot of really great detail in this model.

Fumiaki Kawahata has the most famous origami Yoda design. It’s really great, especially if you use 2-sided green and brown paper.

Martin Hunt designed this excellent Naboo Starfighter which looks especially great with yellow and silver paper.

This next model was specially designed for a fan fiction so it’s not an official ship from Star Wars but it definitely has that Star Wars look and feel.

Karol Kafarski designed a series of excellent models from the new movies. He also designed some awesome patterned paper to use when folding them.
Here’s the Resistance Shuttle from the Force Awakens.

Here’s the Upsilon Class Shuttle, the shuttle that Kylo Ren uses in both Episodes VII and VIII. Like the Lambda Class Shuttle you can fold the wings up or down just like in the movies.

Here’s Karol Kafarski’s Resistance X-Wing but with special patterned paper with the same colours as Poe’s X-Wing in the movies.

The final image for this post is this First Order TIE Fighter. The design is already really excellent but this special patterned paper Karol Kafarski designed takes the awesomeness to another level.
