How to Make an Easy Origami Chicken
These instructions will show you how to make an easy origami chicken. Even though this is a chicken it’s folded from a Fish Base. If you’re new to paper folding we recommend that you take a moment to review our Beginner’s Guide which will teach you all the basic techniques.
Step 1) Fold the paper in half and then unfold it.
Step 2) Fold both sides of the paper to the centre along the dotted lines.
Step 3) Fold both sides of the paper to the centre along the dotted lines.
Step 4) Open up the paper trapped underneath.
Step 5) Flatten the paper on both sides into a Rabbit Ear Fold. With two Rabbit Ear Folds you have a Fish Base.
Step 6) Fold the two triangle flaps of paper over along the dotted lines.
Step 7) Fold the paper in half with the bottom half over behind.
Step 8) This image is zoomed in on the right side. Fold the flap of paper over along the dotted line and repeat behind.
Step 9) Fold the entire flap of paper over to the right and repeat on the other side.
Step 10) Make an Inside Reverse Fold along the dotted line to make the neck.
Step 11) Make another Inside Reverse Fold on the other side along the dotted line.
Step 12) Make two more Inside Reverse Folds along the dotted lines.
Step 13) Make an Inside Reverse Fold up along the dotted line.
Step 14) Fold the paper inside the model along the dotted lines. Repeat on the other side.
