Traditional Origami Christmas Tree Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Folding time: Less than 5 minutes

  • Paper: We used 18×18 cm (7×7 in) custom-designed origami paper (you can download it here). Alternatively, Kami 15×15 cm (6×6 in) will work well.

Step 1

Start with the white side of the paper facing up. Fold and unfold in half diagonally.

Step 2

Rotate the paper 45° clockwise.

Step 3

Fold the left and right top edges towards the center line, creating a kite base.

Step 4

Bring the bottom corner to the top corner, and fold in half.

Fold the left and right top edges towards the center line.

Fold the top corner down along the dotted line using the reference points to guide you.

Fold the bottom corner upwards along the dotted line so it meets the bottom edge of the green triangle.
